The 2025 season will represent a sort of ‘new beginning’ for the Visa Cash App RB Team, better known as the Racing Bulls. Their partnership with the parent company, Red Bull, will be further tightened. With rumours of the team’s sale averted for the moment, the team led by Laurent Mekies is demanding more from itself. Yuki Tsunoda will drive alongside rookie Isack Hadjar this year, who replaces Liam Lawson – now teammate to Max Verstappen.
New line-up and closer synergy with Red Bull, the foundations for 2025 have already been laid in Las Vegas
As happened in 2023, Jody Egginton’s men last year’s car until the very end of the year. Upgrades arrived to the VCARB 01 at the season finale in Abu Dhabi – partly in preparation for 2025.
At the Las Vegas GP, the VCARB01 was also equipped with the rear suspension that ran all year on the RB20 – which will be the foundation of future development. A new front wing also made its debut at the end of last season.
The Faenza team is looking for a leap in quality via their closer synergy with Red Bull. They look to learn from Pierre Waché’s technical team and capitalise on the components they are allowed to purchase by the regulations.
Last season, the transfer of the operational headquarters from Biecester to Milton Keynes took place. This integration with Red Bull technologies will the efficiency of the work on English soil.
Obviously, work continues at the team’s base in Italy, with the operational headquarters in Faenza and the support of Dallara. In the last twelve months, a series of big names joined Faenza – including Tim Gross from the FIA. Gross will mainly deal with the work RB’s 2026 challenger.
The new single-seater will be unveiled on February 17th. Imola running begins today
Unlike many other teams, Racing Bulls will debut their 2025 car before pre-season testing. According to AutoRacer, a filming day is planned for February 17th in Imola.
The team will then reveal its livery on February 18th in London, together with the rest of the teams.
The men led by Laurent Mekies will immediately use one of the two filming days permitted by the regulations. They will then send their new challenger to Bahrain – carrying out a series of checks beforehand.
In addition, the Faenza team has planned an intense training plan for its two drivers, offering them a ‘soft’ return from vacation.
They will do some track running prior to the Bahrain tests and season opener Melbourne, Australia. The Racing Bulls will be on track today in Imola for a three-day TPC test from January 21st to 23rd, using one of their cars from the past years.
It will be an important day for Tsunoda, but even more so for Hadjar – who will drive an F1 car for the first time. The Frenchman will begin work with the new team and start studying all the various operational processes that drivers have to carry out in the car.
