On the day in which the red car took to the track at Fiorano for an FIA test session, another important piece of news came from Ferrari linked to the immediate future, specifically concerning Charles Leclerc. In fact, from next weekend in Imola, Xavi Marcos will no longer be the track engineer of the Monegasque driver. Taking the Spanish engineer’s place in the Monegasque team will be Bryan Bozzi, who has already been working within the team for some time, covering the role of Leclerc’s Performance Engineer.
Ferrari communicated the internal change which will take effect in the immediate future as follows:
“Scuderia Ferrari HP communicates that starting from Monday, 13 May, Xavi Marcos will bring his valuable experience gained as a track engineer to the Formula 1 team in the development of other important corporate programs.
It is, therefore, not a farewell to the Cavallino for Marcos. He will continue to cross the gates of Maranello, albeit in a different capacity from that of Charles Leclerc’s race engineer. This is an important change for the Monegasque since Xavi Marcos has been his race engineer since 2019.
Taking Marcos’ place will be Bryan Bozzi, an internal replacement, as explained in the official press release: “Scuderia Ferrari HP communicates that Bryan Bozzi, ten years in the team, currently Performance Engineer for Charles Leclerc, will take on the role of Race Engineer starting from the Made in Italy and Emilia Grand Prix next weekend – Romagna to Imola.
A change that will, therefore, have an immediate effect, with the person who until now had been Leclerc’s performance engineer taking over from Marcos taking on the role of track engineer for Ferrari driver number 16 from next weekend in Emilia Romagna. a further ingredient of interest on the Maranello front in view of the weekend in Imola, where an important package of developments on the SF-24 is also expected.
