All teams are obliged to showcase their 2025 liveries in London on February 18th , during F1’s official launch event. However, it is unlikely many teams will reveal any aspects of their 2025 challenger at this show.
As it stands, teams are expected to keep their cards close to their chest before pre-season testing.
Shakedown at Fiorano after Ferrari’s 2025 presentation
As already anticipated on AutoRacer, Ferrari will have a new livery this year – featuring a darker red paint . The latest car from Maranello will return to the mixed tones shown on the F1-75 and the F2008 .
The Scuderia’s top brass have opted for continuity with their 2025 launch. More or less like 2024, the SF-25 should be unveiled on the morning of February 19th through Ferrari’s official channels.
The first iteration of the SF-25, which will appear in the Bahrain tests, is in the final production stages. At this stage of the year, Ferrari’s personnel are working flat out to ensure everything is in place:
“Being perfectly ready for the pre-season tests after the winter shutdown is always a challenge,” explains Fred Vasseur.
At Fiorano, the SF-25 should carry out a 200km filming day on the same day (67 laps in total) that will accompany the official presentation of the car, following last year’s plan.
Both drivers will alternate at the wheel of the new Ferrari, dividing the day and lapping for 100km each.
Therefore, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will therefore go to Fiorano after TPC testing in Barcelona. In these sessions, both drivers completed laps in the SF-24 for the 2026 Pirelli tire tests.
Ferrari’s running plan will mean that both drivers have spent time in the team’s 2023, 2024 and 2025 challengers.
Other teams also on track before Bahrain testing
Several teams are scheduled to have a filming day in Bahrain on February 25th .
Red Bull, Aston Martin and Mercedes are confirmed, but there could be other teams looking to capitalize on a chance for track time right before pre-season tests.
Teams will work diligently to learn quickly about how to optimize set-up at a range of low and high-speed corners.
Many teams have given up on the traditional plan of having filming days ‘at home’. Ferrari, meanwhile, will stick to tradition – preparing for a Fiorano run before going to Bahrain for pre-season testing.
