The Miami weekend begins after an intense week, to say the least, for the F1 Championship. Rumours about Adrian Newey’s departure were confirmed by the announcement of Adrian Newey’s exit from Red Bull. This is, therefore, the central theme of the day dedicated to the press over the weekend on US soil. Lewis Hamilton couldn’t help but smile at the press conference when asked about Newey’s availability. Like his future teammate Charles Leclerc, he was thrilled by the idea of working with an all-time great engineer.

CHARLES LECLERC: “ADRIAN NEWEY? IT WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE HIM ON THE TEAM.”

The Monegasque driver underlined how the ambitions within Ferrari are pushing the entire team to aim high:

“It has always been like this, it is precisely what describes Ferrari, this passion and this motivation to arrive to always be first.”

Charles Leclerc, whose SF-24 will have a special livery, recalls the history of the Prancing Horse. Leclerc then focused on what is the topic of the moment, commenting on the possible arrival of Adrian Newey in Ferrari in 2025:

“It would certainly be a wonderful opportunity. We are a great team. We have done very well in the last 7-8 months.

“We already have incredibly talented people within the team. Adding Adrian to this team would be great.

“Having said that, I don’t know which way he will go. Time will tell, but it would be a great opportunity.”

THE FERRARI WEEKEND BETWEEN SUGGESTIONS AND FUTURE CERTAINTIES

The British engineer’s free agency is a clearly exciting prospect. Lewis Hamilton made no secret about his admiration for Newey, both verbally and from his body language.

“How much would you like to work with Adrian Newey?”

This question was posed to the seven-time world champion, who then promptly replied: “Very much!”

Despite the rumours that the technical genius will be wearing a red jacket in 2025, Ferrari is not the only candidate on this front. Even Fernando Alonso did not hide his enthusiasm for a possible job side-by-side with Newey in Aston Martin:

“I have always wanted to work with him once in my life because I consider him the best engineer in F1.”

Regardless of the technician’s fate, Ferrari is excited about this weekend and what it can reveal about the SF-24.

In addition to the team’s special livery, the Scuderia also have HP logos on their official kit – marking a huge sponsorship agreement.
