The teams are in Bahrain waiting for the official start of the testing tomorrow. In the meantime, there are already some cars on the track, as several teams have held their first filming day of the season on the Sakhir track, on the eve of the tests.
Aston Martin’s AMR25, the Haas VF-25, Mercedes W16 and Red Bull RB21 all went on track today. Ferrari completed their filming day at Fiorano a few days ago, which went without ahead of the green light tomorrow.
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc expected on track all three days
Each team has its own way of managing their drivers across the three days of testing. There are those, like Red Bull, who to give each driver a full day of running – splitting just one day between their drivers.
It is a simple organisational choice, which also makes life easier for mechanics – who don’t have to make changes for each driver during the lunch break.
The Maranello outfit have traditionally preferred having two drivers on track every day. This split running allows for constant running for drivers, despite the limited testing available.
According to what AutoRacer has gathered, this year should be no exception, confirming the routine of past years. After Charles Leclerc was first on track with the Ferrari SF-25 in Fiorano, Lewis Hamilton will be first on track tomorrow.
The 7-tim Champion will take the morning session, before Leclerc jumps in for the afternoon runs.
Hamilton is also expected to run in the morning session on Thursday. He will then close the three-day test with the Friday afternoon run.
Consequently, Charles Leclerc should be on track on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, before taking part in Friday’s morning session. This will cap off Ferrari’s running before the Australian GP kicks off the 2025 season.
